COLUMBUS — Wilford P. Crise, 85, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Kindred Transitional Care & Rehabilitation-Franklin Woods.

He was born Aug. 3, 1926, in Mount Vernon, to the late Paul and Mary (Fawcett) Crise. He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran. Wilford was an OSU alumni and retired engineer from Westinghouse, Big Bear and Ranco; member of Columbia Heights United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Ellen (Yoakum) Crise; sister, Nora Sutton; and son-in-law, Tom Cornelison.

He is survived by his children, Lisa Cornelison and David Crise; grandchildren, Eddy, Elissa, Brooke and Caroline; brothers-in-law, Dale Sutton and Joe (Ree) Yoakum; sister-in-law, Mary Sweeney; cousins, Bob Crise and Dick (Polly) Crise; several nieces, nephews, caring neighbors and friends.

Family will receive friends Thursday, March 22, 5 to 7 p.m. at Schoedinger Hilltop Chapel, 3030 W. Broad St., Columbus. Interment Friday, March 23, at 11 a.m. in Workman Cemetery, Danville. Please visit http://www.schoedinger.com to share memories or extend condolences.
