MOUNT VERNON — Frances Anton, 90, of East Ohio Avenue, Mount Vernon, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012, at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, with her devoted son at her side.

She was born March 20, 1922, in Symi Island, Greece, to the late Strates and Pepena Mangos. Frances was part owner of Steve’s Bar and Grill, and was a member of the St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Mansfield. She enjoyed cooking and bingo, but most of all she cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Michael Anton of Mount Vernon; three daughters, Pepena Neary of Texas, Anna (Stuart) Bogden of Nevada, Pandora (A.T.) Payne of Michigan; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her brother, Fote Mangos of Greece.

Besides her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Anton; two sons, Manos and Manol Anton; her daughter, Cocona Dodrill; four brothers and two sisters.

The family will observe a private service with the Rev. Michael Ellis officiating. Burial will be held in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Frances Anton.
