MARENGO — Kathryn Isabelle Whisman, 91, of Marengo died Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
Kathryn was born Nov. 29, 1920, in Cherry Corners, Pa., to Howard and Irene (Horn) Neeper. Kathryn was a former employee of Buckhannon General Hospital in Buckhannon, Va., and retired from the former Martin Memorial Hospital in Mount Vernon. She enjoyed home canning, reading, and her grandchildren. Kathryn was a member of the Glory Baptist Church in Sparta.
Surviving are her sons, George (Karen) Donahue Jr. and Lance (Mary) Donahue, both of Du Bois, Pa., Russell Donahue of Marengo and Frederick (Tammy) Donahue of Cardington; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Homer Neeper of Curwensville, Pa.
Besides her parents, Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Whisman Jr.; a granddaughter, Ruth Ann Donahue; and 12 brothers and sisters.
Friends may call Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
