WARREN — Michael D. Miller, 83, of Warren died peacefully April 3, 2012, at St. Joseph Health Center with his family at his side.

He was born Jan. 21, 1929, in Warren, the son of Francis and Marie (Weidinger) Miller. Michael was a 1947 graduate of Warren St. Mary’s High School. He retired in 1990 from American Welding as a supervisor after 37 1/2 years. He was a member of St. William Church and enjoyed socializing, walking and being a part of his homeowner association and was a past president. Michael was a veteran of the Korean conflict, serving in the Marines.

He is survived by Martha Furchak DeVita Miller, whom he married July 7, 1984. Also surviving are children, Kathy (Brian) Ricci of Orlando, Fla., Mike (Sherry) Miller of Champion, Tom (Lori) Miller of Warren and Attorney. Pam Pusey Miller of Twinsburg; grandchildren, Nicole, Bryanne, Anthony, Jessica, Jennifer (Chris), Michelle (Brian), Samantha, Jake and Cody; four great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Carol (Jim) Davis of Lorain, Bob (Kathy) DeVita of McDonald, Kathy (Bruce) White of Mount Vernon and Tim (Betty) DeVita of Toronto, Ontario, Canada; stepgrandchildren, Amanda (Mike), Andrew, Ian, Bobby, Zachary and Quinn; two stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Veronica (Taninecz) Miller, on Feb. 23, 1983; daughter, Nancy Miller; son-in-law, Mark Pusey; and three brothers, John, Francis J. and James Miller.

Funeral took place this morning at the St. William Church, with the Rev. Michael D. Balash officiating. Burial was in All Souls Cemetery at Courtland, with full military honors. The Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel at Warren was in charge of arrangements.
