UTICA — A funeral service for Cortney S. Gentry, 34, of Utica, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Apostolic Church, 1639 W. 229, Mount Vernon. Pastor L.J. Harry will officiate. He passed away Monday, April 9, 2012, at Licking Memorial Hospital.
Cortney was born April 29, 1977, in Newark, a son of the late Gerald Gentry Sr. and Linda (Redman) Gentry of Utica. Cortney was a truck driver for Freight Sales and enjoyed drag racing and working on cars.
Surviving in addition to his mother, are his wife, Amanda (Kashner) Gentry; his children, Madison, age 7, and Caden, age 4; a brother, Dennis (Gina) Gentry of Newark; three nieces, Acura, Aya and Avia; two half brothers and one half sister; an uncle, Gary Redman; aunts, Vickie Williams and Vanessa Crisp; grandfather, Fred Roach of Mount Vernon; mother-in-law, Karen Kashner of Utica; and special friend, John Lilley. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Norma Roach.
