GRANVILLE — A funeral service for Royal C. Bruce, 94, of Granville, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Highwater Congregational UCC, 1213 Dutch Lane Road, Newark, with the Rev. Scott Schieber officiating. Burial will follow in Fredonia Cemetery.

Mr. Bruce died April 22, 2012, at his residence. He was born April 20, 1918, in Burlington Township, Licking County, to the late Samuel and Josie (Crotinger) Bruce. Royal was a member of Highwater Congregational UCC, McKean School Board, North Fork School Board, Agrology Club, Laylin Grange and Farmer Masonic Lodge. He graduated from Homer High School and served in the U.S. Army. After retiring from farming, Royal worked as a manager of sales at Newark Tractor.

He is survived by wife of 70 years, Betty Jane (Klump) Bruce; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Jenifer Bruce, Thomas and Barb Bruce, all of Granville; grandchildren, Lenae ( Mark) Marston, Deborah (Doug) Phillips, Brad Bruce, Jarrod (Lindsey) Bruce, Mark (Ericka) Bruce; 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kristi; and three brothers, Kenneth, Dale and James Burton Bruce.

Friends may call Wednesday from noon until 2 p.m. at Highwater Congregational UCC, 1213 Dutch Lane Road, Newark.
