SPARTA — Kathryn J. Stryker, 92, of Sparta, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon. Kathryn was the former owner and operator of Kathryn’s Beauty Salon, and a life member of the Sparta United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and played the piano.
Preceded in death by husband, Gordon E. Stryker; brothers, Harold, Arthur and Robert; and sister, Bernice.
Survived by sons, David E. (Lynn) Stryker of Gambier, and Douglas G. (Julie) Stryker of Sparta; grandchildren, Ryan (Chris) McClenathan of Belleville, Andi Stryker of Marengo, Lauren (Erik) Santmyer of Sparta, Zachariah (Amanda) Stryker of Springfield, Jayson Brown of Millwood and Joshua Stryker of Mount Vernon; great-grandchildren, Connor, Dylan, Kieren, Cain, Elliot, and Kinsley; sisters, Carmen Kerscher and Doris White, both of New Holland; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Johnson-Melick-Moreland Funeral Home, 49 W. Church St., Centerburg, from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Sparta United Methodist Church, 22 N. Church St., Sparta, with the Rev. Larry Carnes officiating. Interment in Bloomfield Cemetery.
