MOUNT VERNON — Linda Sue Mizer, 70, of Mount Vernon, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born June 22, 1941, in Mount Vernon. Linda was a former employee of Kmart for over 20 years and a six-year employee of G.R. Smith Hardware.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Everett “Ed” Mizer; two sons, Kevin (Melissa) Mizer of Bladensburg and Tim Mizer of Walhonding; two grandchildren, Brandon and Katlyn Mizer; two sisters, Sharon (Randy) Bowers of Mount Vernon and Nancy (Gary) Burch of Bellville; one brother, Donald “Pete” Early of Utica; and several nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Betty (Hayes) Sellers; her father, Elvin “Turk” Sellers; and an aunt, Lena Weaver.

Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. Graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Mount Zion Cemetery near Bladensburg, with Pastor Ben McKinstry officiating.
