FREDERICKTOWN — Douglas W. Hinger, 56, of Love Road, Fredericktown, passed away Friday, May 4, 2012, at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
He was born March 6, 1956, in Mount Vernon, to Carroll and Joanna (Davis) Hinger. Doug was employed as a Mold Maker for Mansfield Plumbing. He enjoyed working on his van and was an avid NASCAR fan. Doug’s hobby was splitting firewood and helping people in need. But most of all he loved the time he spent with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Josh (Sherry) Hinger of Mount Vernon; his daughter, Abbie Hinger of Mount Vernon; four grandchildren, Ayden Hinger, Cayden Edmister, Camberley Edmister and Ethan Hoeflich; his mother, Joanna Hinger of Mount Vernon; a brother, Jeff Hinger of Fredericktown; three sisters, Vicky (Carl) Sapp of Mount Vernon, Linda Hinger of Mount Vernon, Judy (John) Francis of Mount Vernon; the mother of his children, Kim Hinger of Mount Vernon; and many nieces and nephews.
Doug was preceded in death by his father, Carroll Hinger.
Friends may call Wednesday at the Covenant Christian Church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A service will follow beginning at 1 p.m., with Pastor Don Matolyak officiating. The family will observe a private burial at a later date. The Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Douglas W. Hinger.
