MOUNT VERNON — Virginia I. Cline, 80, of Mount Vernon, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012, at her residence.

She was born Feb. 16, 1932, in Knox County to the late Martin H. and Mabel (Johnson) Brooks. Virginia was a lifelong member of The Salvation Army Church.

She is survived by her children, Trudy (Jim) Crowl, Shirley (Herb) Carter, Andrea (Dave) Moran, all of Mount Vernon, Daneen Cline of Weirton, W.Va., and Paul (Johanna) Cline of Danville; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Cline, in 1982; two granddaughters, Amber Cline and Angie Crowl; a sister, Isabelle Blanton; and a brother, Ralph Brooks.

Friends may call today, May 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, where funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m., with Major Robert Bender officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
