LEXINGTON — Floyd D. Adams, 76, of Lexington died May 4, 2012, in Hospice House of Ashland.
He was born Jan. 30, 1936, in Columbus, the son of Lewis Frederick and Anna Mae (Lewis) Adams. Floyd served two years in the U.S. Army during peacetime; was honorably discharged in 1957. Floyd worked as a police officer in Ashley, also as a salesman at Graham Ford in Mansfield. Most recently he worked as a greeter at Walmart.
Survived by a stepdaughter, Deborah (Roy) Shonk of Ashley; three grandchildren; a brother, Don (Nancy) Adams of Mount Vernon; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
Preceded by parents; and siblings, Irene Strait, Richard, Harold, Walter and Jerry Adams.
Friends may call Friday, 5 to 7 p.m., Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. Following the visitation, military honors performed by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail will be held on the grounds of the funeral home.
