MOUNT VERNON — Clifford “Cliff” Rager, 70, of Sychar Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012, at his home.

He was born Oct. 6, 1941, in Leipsic, to the late Charles and Esther (Bennett) Rager. Cliff worked at Pittsburgh Plate Glass and retired from Rolls Royce in Mount Vernon. He was an active member of the East Knox Lions Club, Knox County 912 Patriots Club, John Birch Society and the 2nd Amendment Society. Cliff enjoyed trap shooting, turkey shoots, discussing politics and spending quality time with his family. He was a member of the Howard United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his children, Lesli Rager of Indianapolis, Ind., Jacinda Rager of Howard and Ryan (Truskie) Rager of Walhonding; five grandchildren, Cody Rager, Dalton Rager, Mike Frost, Danielle Poole and Dandalyn Dunn; a brother, Edward (Barbara) Rager of Gambier; nephews, Mike (Deanna) Rager and David (Danielle) Rager; and an aunt, Katie Rager of Leipsic.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his uncle, Ted Rager.

Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Howard United Methodist Church, 23212 Coshocton Road, Howard, where a funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. Pastor Lee Cubie will be officiating. The family will observe a private graveside service at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Knox County 912 Patriots Club or Howard United Methodist Church or the East Knox Lions Club.
