MOUNT VERNON — Elaine B. Coe, 82, of Mount Vernon, passed away Friday, May 11, 2012, at Country Court Nursing Center with her family by her side.

She was born Feb. 25, 1930, in Mount Vernon, to the late Lawrence and Edith (Shearer) Bricker.

Elaine was a longtime member of the Mulberry Street United Methodist Church and the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority. She also had worked as a volunteer for Reach to Recovery for the American Cancer Society.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert M. Coe; two daughters, Jane Ann (Ronald) Newman of Miramar Lakes, Fla. and Barb Cannon of Fredericktown; and a son, Steve (Vonda) Coe of Fredericktown; her brother, Jim (Carol) Bricker of Florida, seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nephews and a niece.

Elaine was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary; and her son-in-law, Rich Cannon last month.

Friends may call Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home, 212 N. Main St., Mount Vernon, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Warren Outhwaite officiating. Burial will follow in Mound View Cemetery.
