SEBRING, Fla. — John W. Wood, 95, of Sebring, Fla., passed away Friday, May 11, 2012, in Sebring.

He was born Dec. 21, 1916, to William B. and Mary (Poff) Wood in Lancaster, Ky., and had been a resident of Sebring since 1980, coming from Fredericktown. He was a truck driver and attended Grace Church of Sebring.

He is survived by his wife, Martha F. “Fern” Wood of Sebring; stepchildren, Stephen Mann of Pennsylvania, Thomas Mann and Timothy Mann, both of Ohio; grandchildren, Jamie Wood and John Wood, both of Georgia, Stephanie Harris and Dean Wood, both of Oregon; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, James Wood of Synthana, Ky.; seven brothers and sisters; and stepson, Randall Mann of Ohio.

A memorial service will be held Sunday at 6 p.m. at Grace Church of Sebring. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to Good Shepherd Hospice, 1110 Hammock Road, Sebring, FL 33870.
