MOUNT VERNON — Marilyn Kay Gump, 60, of Columbus Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

She was born Oct. 20, 1951, in Mount Vernon to the late Lake and Edna (Coakley) Van Winkle. Kay was employed as an accounting clerk for Lanning’s Foods and attended Faith Baptist Church. She enjoyed collecting dog figurines and Fenton Glass.

She is survived by her husband of over 41 years, James Gump; her son, Jamie Gump of Chicago, Ill.; her daughter, Valerie (Michael Healy) Wilson of Mount Vernon; two grandchildren, D.J. Wilson, Allison Healy; her brother, Tom (Dottie) Van Winkle of Bladensburg; and three sisters, Sue (Bill) Mattinson of South Charleston, Lou (Norman) Baker of Fredericktown and Sherry (Charles) Beatty of Walhonding.

Besides her parents, Kay was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Amy Gump.

There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held Friday, May 25, beginning at 1 p.m. in Mound View Cemetery. The Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Marilyn Kay Gump.
