FREDERICKTOWN — Marjorie Helen Hess, 84, of South Main Street, Fredericktown, went to be with her Lord Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Knox Community Hospital.

She was born June 19, 1927, in Champaign, Ill., to the late Lloyd and Lulu Kuyrkendall. Marjorie was employed at the Foote Foundry in Fredericktown, the Mount Vernon Nazarene College and retired as a nurse aide at the Mount Vernon Developmental Center. She was a member of the Fredericktown Nazarene Church where she was the past treasurer. Marjorie was active in the Disabled American Veteran’s (D.A.V.) where again she served as treasurer. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and reading. But most of all, Marjorie enjoyed the time she spent with her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Roberta “Bobbi” Geer of Fredericktown and Nancy DeDomenic of Virginia; two sons, Carl Hess of Mount Gilead and Dave (Anne) Hess of Warsaw; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three brothers, William (Susan) Kuyrkendall of Nevada, Fred (Dina) Kuyrkendall of Pennsylvania and Robert (Claudine) Kuyrkendall of Texas.

Besides her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Hess; her daughter, Lisa Hess; a brother, Martin Kuyrkendall; and two sisters, Marilyn Clark and Kathleen Callan.

Friends may call Monday at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown from 5 to 7 p.m. A service will be held Tuesday, at the funeral home, beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Ankenytown Cemetery.
