COLUMBUS — Robert E. Blake, 92, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2012.
He was born Jan. 24, 1920, in Mount Vernon, to the late Carl and Helen (Sites) Blake. He was a 1937 graduate of Mount Vernon High School and a U.S. Army veteran. Bob attended Wilberforce University and completed his education at The Ohio State University in electrical engineering. He worked for RCA in New Jersey and retired as Associate Professor Emeritus in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University. He was an avid sports fan, and especially enjoyed cheering on the Buckeyes.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. (Findley) Blake; brothers, Carl, Harry, Harold and Ronald Blake; and his very devoted sister, Beverly Carmichael.
He is survived by his brother, Norman Blake; brother-in-law, Joseph Carmichael; sister-in-law, Zada Blake; nephew, Carl (Marcelline) Blake; cousins and other extended family.
