MOUNT VERNON — John F. Haley, 79, of Mount Vernon, passed away Friday, May 25, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born April 29, 1933, in McComb, Ohio, to the late John Jacob Caleb Haley and Della (Baker) Haley. John was a member of the Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene and the Shepard’s House Church. He retired from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 1989.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Elizabeth “Betty” (Wentz) Haley; sons, Paul Steven (Lisa) Haley of Forest, David Glen (Kellie) Haley of Galion and Aaron Lee (Mindi) Haley of Mount Vernon; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Marion and Dean Haley; and a sister, Mildred Sharp.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene in Mount Vernon and one hour prior to funeral on Wednesday. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene, with Dr. Gary Sivewright officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is handling the funeral services for the Haley family.
