MOUNT VERNON — James R. “Ed” Davis, 73, of Yauger Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Monday, June 4, 2012, at the Emeritus at HillenVale.

He was born July 1, 1938, in Columbus, to the late Pearl and Lucille (Conant) Davis. He was employed at and retired from General Electric in Columbus in the industrial diamonds department. James was a member of the Central Church of Christ and was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his son, Eddie (Deena) Davis of Howard; his daughter, Michelle (Mike) Poling of Marysville; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Herriott, Trisha Herriott, Jamie Wade, Sara Kofod, Casey Davis, Jack Davis; two brothers, Steven Davis, Mike Myers; and three sisters, Catherine Clark, Liz Norris and Jean Kerner.

Besides his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Davis.

A memorial service will be held Friday beginning at 11 a.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, with Pastor Don Linn officiating.
