MOUNT VERNON — William O. “Bill” Kofod, 61, of Mount Vernon, passed away at home on Thursday, June 7, 2012.

He was born May 2, 1951, in Mount Vernon, son of the late Henry and Margaret (Ignatze) Kofod. Bill was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed camping, the great outdoors, and spending time with his family.

Bill is survived by his son, William A. “Andy” (Kelly) Kofod of Newark; his daughter, Erin Kofod of Mansfield; granddaughters, Emily, Hannah and Lauren; brothers, Steven and Eric; sisters, Martha and Marilyn; nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Ken Roth.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, David.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday in Mound View Cemetery, with the Rev. Daniel Dickman officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
