MOUNT VERNON — John N. Sinclair, 65, of Mount Vernon, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 23, 1947, in Marietta, to Homer and Gwendolyn Sinclair. He grew up in Mount Vernon and was a graduate of Mount Vernon High School (1965) and Franklin University. He was a member of the U.S. Navy and honorably served in Vietnam. John worked for Cooper-Bessemer and later for the Mount Vernon City Schools. He loved fishing, traveling and sports. He was a great supporter of the arts, especially the music and theater programs at Mount Vernon Schools.
John is survived by his father, Homer Sinclair of Mount Vernon; daughter, Lisa of York, England; wife, Joanne of Marietta; brother-in-law, Theodore Becker Jr. of Lewes, Del.; sister-in-law, Mimi Becker of La Habra, Calif.; nephew, James Becker of Austin, Texas; niece, Sandra Becker of La Habra, Calif.; and numerous cousins from Mount Vernon and Marietta. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gwendolyn; and his wife, Nancy.
Graveside burial will be held today at 1 p.m. at Mound View Cemetery, 307 Wooster Road, Mount Vernon.
