DAVENPORT, Fla. — Eldon D. Garrabrant, 89, of Davenport, Fla., and formerly of Johnstown, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Chapel Grove Inn, Heath.
A memorial service will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Old Tech Lake, 8859 Windy Hollow, Johnstown. Inurnment will be in Green Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Garrabrant was born Feb. 27, 1923, in Westerville, to the late Dale and Grace (Burrell) Garrabrant. He retired from the Newark Air Force Station, member of the U.S. Army during World War II, American Legion at Johnstown, VFW, volunteer for the Johnstown-Monroe Fire Department, former owner of the White Star Milling Co. at Johnstown, volunteer for the Citrus Ridge Civil Security Patrol at Citrus Ridge, Fla.
Survived by three daughters and one son, Judi King of Johnstown, Jerry (Richard) Barricklow of Newark, Linda Smith of Louisville, Ky., Donald (Sue) Garrabrant of Johnstown; eight grandchildren, John (Missy) King, Barry (Therese) King, Corey (Jaime) Smith, Amy (Sam) Sites, Adam Barricklow, Travis (Cassie) Garrabrant, Tracy Garrabrant, Trisha Patrick; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his wife, Freda Garrabrant; one brother, James Garrabrant.
