FORT MYERS, Fla. — Carolyn Kay Hankins-Hatten, 68, of Fort Myers, Fla., passed away peacefully June 8, 2012.
She was born March 15, 1944, to the late Robert H. and Georgia R. Hatten. Carolyn graduated from Centerburg High School. She was married to the late Prentiss D. Hankins and lived in the Centerburg area. After retiring from Anthem Insurance, she relocated to Fort Myers, Fla., in 2002. Carolyn made many friends there and enjoyed entertaining, quilting and playing cards. Her most rewarding activity was volunteering at Hope Chest, the donation store of Hope Hospice.
Carolyn is survived by four children, Geoffrey Hatten of Columbus, Robert J. Denig of Lake Geneva, Wis., Ginah L. (Chris) Shaw of Stockport and Jason Hankins of Lake Geneva, Wis.; two sisters, Ruth Ann Graham of Columbus and Joan Mahan of Centerburg. She had five grandchildren, Ashley Bober, Cody Denig, Courtney Denig, Caleb Shaw and Patrick Strunk.
A memorial service will be held in Centerburg later in the month.
