BOCA RATON, Fla. — Forrest Franklin McAlister, 93, passed away May 25, 2012, unexpectedly at his home.
He was born in Corvallis, Ore., on Oct. 8, 1918, to Rancee Grover McAlister and Rosa Mae (Crider) McAlister.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Otto Nelson Burris; his loving wife, Burnice Elizabeth (Reep) McAlister; and his sister, Willena McAlister Wallace.
Following World War II, he returned to Mount Vernon and employment at J.C. Penney Store and became manager until being transferred.
Surviving are his daughter, Andrea McAlister of Boca Raton; two nieces, Dixie Wallace and Bonnie Wythe, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of Knox County. Also preceded by a cousin’s wife, Lee Ann Crider.
