COLUMBUS — Raymond P. Kerrigan Jr., 76, of North High Street, Columbus, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at The Laurels of Worthington.
He was born Feb. 7, 1936, in Castle Shannon, Pa., to the late Raymond and Veronica (Sherbine) Kerrigan Sr. Raymond retired in 1999 as a quality engineer for Cook Engineering and was a 50-year member of the Knights of Columbus Council 847. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and attended St. Pius X Catholic Church in Reynoldsburg. Raymond served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by a son, Raymond M. (Karen) Kerrigan of Hendersonville, Tenn.; a daughter, Kathleen M. (Dennis) McCormick of Gahanna; four grandchildren, Michael Kerrigan, Stephanie Kerrigan, Mallory McCormick and Amanda McCormick; a brother, Dennis (Jane) Kerrigan of Minster; a sister, Maureen (Frank) Garshak of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen (Roper) Kerrigan (1997); and a brother, Joseph Kerrigan.
Friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, where a Rosary will follow at 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Mark J. Hammond as celebrant. Burial, with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council, will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Mount Vernon.
