BELLVILLE — William Scott Lyon, 81, died June 11, 2012, in his home.
Bill was born July 13, 1930, in Jefferson Township, the son of Scott and Cora “Ah-ha-ha-bah” Lyon. A lifelong Bellville resident, Bill was a 1949 graduate of Bellville High School and was an athlete inducted into the Clear Fork Valley Sports Hall of Fame. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he served during the Korean conflict.
Survived by his wife, E. Josephine (McFerren); three daughters, Pamela Lyon, Molly Bartrum, Shelley (Steve) Hughett; son, Kelly Lyon; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Eleanor Lyon-Nielsen.
Preceded by parents; son-in-law, Mark Bartrum.
Visitation is today, 5-8 p.m., Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. Pastor Wes Dingus will officiate. Burial with military honors in Bellville Cemetery.
