WESTERVILLE — Dorothy L. Harwell, 93, of Blendon Chase Drive, Westerville, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Jan. 22, 1919, in Mount Vernon, to the late Clarence and Goldie (Pealer) Grubb. Dorothy retired in 1994 after 40 years of loyal employment with Gallagher’s and Revco Pharmacy in Mount Vernon. She was proud to be a Rosie Riveter during World War II making ammunition boxes. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles and feeding the birds at her house. She was a lifelong member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her two sons, Larry (Dottie) Harwell of Chillicothe, John Harwell of Fredericktown; two daughters, Cinda Coffing of Westerville and Vicki (Dick) Maxwell of Fredericktown, daughter-in-law, Sue Harwell; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Harwell; a son, Buddy Harwell; a grandson, Bryce Harwell; and three sisters, Ruby George, Edna Wantland and Mary Spearman.

Friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, with Pastor Larry Hiles officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery.
