NEWARK — Glenn William Toothman, 91, of Newark, formerly of Utica, passed away June 24, 2012, at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark.
He was born Aug. 10, 1920, in Coshocton County to the late James and Iva (Totten) Toothman. Glenn was a World War II Army veteran who served in the 13th Armored Division, 46th Tank Battalion with a T-5 rank. He retired from Owens Corning in Newark in 1982 after 37 years of service, and was a life member of the Fiberglass 25-year club at Owens Corning.
Glenn is survived by his two daughters, Karla J. (Michael) Keeton of White House, Tenn., and Sharon E. Wood of Newark; seven grandchildren, Rachel (Rory) Nesbitt, Rebecca (Shaun) Holloway, Rex (Meagan) Toothman, Juston Wood, James Wood, Kristin Keeton and William Keeton; four great-grandchildren, Jenna Wood, Reece Nesbitt, Ryder Nesbitt and Kiiera Holloway.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred E. Toothman, in 2009; and a son, Roger William Toothman, on Aug. 8, 1997.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Bladensburg, where funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m., with Mr. Ronnie Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Bladensburg Cemetery, with military graveside honors by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
