MOUNT VERNON — Gregory Brett “Greg” Lawhorn, 52, of Mount Vernon and formerly of Mansfield, passed away suddenly Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at his home.

Greg was born Dec. 4, 1959, in Mansfield, the son of Clayton Dale Lawhorn Sr. and the late Mabel M. Smith Lawhorn. He worked as a machinist for 15 years at Ariel Industries; and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to Bob Evans.

Greg is survived by three children, Jennifer Lawhorn, Jamie Lawhorn and Robert Lawhorn, all of Mansfield; seven grandchildren; his father, Clayton Lawhorn Sr. of Mansfield; five siblings, Betty (Lovell) Stallard of Tennessee, Clayton “Corky” (Patricia) Lawhorn Jr. of Kentucky, Adam Lawhorn of West Virginia, Amy Lawhorn of Mansfield and Hope Lawhorn of Willard; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Greg was preceded in death by his mother; and paternal uncle, Marian Lawhorn.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services LTD., 1106 Park Ave. East (Ohio. 430E), Mansfield. Funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Dean Road Freewill Baptist Church, 1069 Mill Road (corner of Mill and Dean roads), with Pastor Earl Tackett officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
