FREDERICKTOWN — Clyde Alan Berry, 68, passed away in the intensive care unit at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, on July 20, 2012, after complications following surgery.

Born April 23, 1944, to Elizabeth Katzenbach Berry and Clyde Francis Berry, he grew up near Marengo.

He is survived by wife, Mary Ruth (Bockover) Berry, whom he married in 1964 in Sparta; a son, Mark and wife Christene (Morgan) Berry of Lexington; daughter, Beth (Tony) Staton of Sparta; five grandsons, Aaron and Jay Allard, whom he had raised as his own since 1992, Shaun and Scott Staton, and Jason Alan Berry; a granddaughter, Holly Marie Berry; brother, James of Little Rock, Ark.; sister, Frances of Salem; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Marie Berry Allard, and a granddaughter, Rachael Marie Allard, both in 1992; his parents, Elizabeth and Clyde Berry in 1993; and a sister, Rita Marie Hay in 1995.

Clyde graduated from Marengo High School in 1962 and worked a short time in Galion at North Electric, then continued working until his retirement at Cooper-Bessemer and Rolls-Royce in Mount Vernon.

There will be a private graveside service for the family at a later date. Arrangements by the Schoedinger North Chapel. Visit to extend condolences.
