MARENGO — Doug E. Freeman, 49, of Marengo, died Sunday morning, July 29, 2012, at Ohio State University Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 10, 1962, in Mount Gilead to Chuck and Eloise (Adkins) Freeman of Marengo. He had attended Fargo Wesleyan Church and taught Sunday School. Doug was a 1980 graduate of Highland High School and had worked for Fishburn Services for 34 years.
Doug was a workaholic and quiet man who enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandson, Keaton. Doug also enjoyed NASCAR and his favorite drivers Dale Sr. and Dale Jr. Doug had also taken missionary trips to Jamaica and South Dakota. He would attend volleyball games to watch his nieces play and Highland basketball games. Doug and Sharon enjoyed cruises to the Southern Caribbean with their friends. Doug also enjoyed going to Buffalo Wild Wings with his buddies for food and fellowship.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of almost 30 years, Sharon (Brasseur) Freeman, and they were married Aug. 10, 1982, in Winchester, Va.; son, Christopher Freeman of Marengo; daughter, Amy (Dan) Richardson of Westerville; grandson, Keaton Richardson; sister, Melanie (Brian) Votaw of Marengo; nieces, Erika and Kendra Votaw; mother-in-law, Barb Brasseur of Mount Vernon; sister-in-law, Susie Brasseur of Mount Vernon; the extended Adkins Family and many friends.
Friends may call Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at 61, Sunbury, where services will be held at 1 p.m., with Pastors Mark Tuggle and Jeff Deel officiating. Interment will follow in the Marengo Cemetery, with Dr. Lucian Baker presiding.
