MOUNT VERNON — Paul Michael Colgin, 68, of East High Street, Mount Vernon, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2012, at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus.

He was born July 30, 1943, in Warren, Ohio, to the late Paul V. and Margaret (Hartshorn) Colgin. Michael served in the U.S. Air Force and currently worked for Divelbiss Corp. in Fredericktown. He was an amateur photographer and enjoyed fishing and taking care of his flower and vegetable garden. Michael was a member of the previous Knox County Art Guild.

He is survived by his children, Jason Colgin of Tempe, Ariz., and Laura Colgin of Austin, Texas; two grandchildren, Tristan Colgin and Phaedra Colgin; a brother, George (Helen) Colgin of Waterford; a sister, Carolyn (Richard) Pohlig of Ponte Vedra, Fla.; nieces and nephews, Dyana Robenalt, Amy Pohlig, Tony Pohlig, Kenneth Colgin; the love of his life, Ann Hudson of Mount Vernon; and his feline companions, Annie, Sammy, Leo and Emmett.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will observe a private celebration of life service at the family home at a later date. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Paul Michael Colgin.

Memorial contributions in Michael’s name may be made to the Knox Community Hospital Palliative Care Unit, 1330 Coshocton Ave., Mount Vernon, OH 43050.
