Mount Vernon — Edna M. Griffith, 86, formerly of Danville, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home.

She was born Oct. 24, 1925, to Clarence and Myrtle Farley. On Oct. 4, 1946, she was married to John R. Griffith.

Edna was a member of the Eastern Star for many years, and worked as an aide at the Ohio Eastern Star Home, as well as the former Morning View Care Center. She enjoyed spending her time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years, John; two sons, Charles R. and William R. Griffith; and a daughter, Edna Jean Frazee.

She is survived by her daughter, Loretta (Jim) Gulick of Walhonding; sons, John H. (Billie) of Texas, Clarence A. (Doris) of Howard, James H. (Connie) of Howard and Carl J. (Carmen) Griffith of Idaho; sisters, Betty Jacks of Newark and Jerri McKinney of Lancaster; 21 grandchildren; and many great and great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 6, at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery in Centerburg. Calling will be one hour prior to the service.
