WALHONDNG — Richard L. Beckley, 77, of Walhonding, passed away at his farm Aug. 5, 2012.

He was born May 9, 1935, to Everett and Madelyn (Amicon) Beckley. He was a graduate of Bladensburg School, a U.S. Army Veteran and worked for Rockwell International in Newark retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Cattleman Association, Farm Bureau; and American Legion Post 650, where he was a former Commander and Chaplain. Dick enjoyed farming and was able to remain at his farm, with his daughter, up until he passed away.

He is survived by two daughters; two sons; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Lenora Beckley, in January 2007.

Graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens, with the Knox County Joint Veterans Council performing military honors. Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home is handling the funeral arrangements for the Beckley family.

The family requests memorial donations to be made in Richard’s memory to Heartland Hospice, 6500 Busch Blvd., Columbus, OH 43229 in place of floral tributes.
