LOUDONVILLE — Carroll E. Huffman, 73, of Loudonville, passed away surrounded by his family, Monday afternoon, Aug. 6, 2012, in Akron City Hospital after a brief illness.

Carroll was born June 26, 1939, in Howard, the son of the late Herman and Mary Opal (Bross) Huffman. He was a 1959 graduate of Howard High School and a 37-year employee of The Flxible Co., Loudonville, retiring in 1996. He later worked at Merillat Cabinets for three years. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Mount Vernon; the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Loudonville; and a social member of Loudon Post 257 American Legion.

Carroll loved to play euchre, watch old westerns on television, and old classic car shows. He was an avid fan of the Loudonville Redbirds, The Ohio State Buckeyes, the Browns, the Indians, and he especially loved to watch his grandkids’ many school and sports activities.

Carroll is survived by his wife, Kay F. (Fath) Huffman, whom he married June 21, 1969; two sons and daughters-in-law, Herman and Faith Huffman and Patrick and April Huffman, all of Loudonville; three grandsons, Mason, Logan and Grayson Huffman; his stepgranddaughter, Saylor Lewis; and his sister, Carolyn Williams of Mount Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert Huffman; and his stepfather, Melvin White.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Bylery-Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville, with minister Charles Oiler officiating. Burial will be in Ashland County Memorial Park. Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
