MOUNT VERNON — Francis Clark “Butch” Jones, 60, of North Harrison Street, Mount Vernon, passed away Aug. 6, 2012, unexpectedly at his home.

He was born Jan. 6, 1952, in Mansfield, to the late Francis J. and Ruth (Garrison) Jones. Francis was a 1970 graduate of Fredericktown High School and entered the U.S. Air Force upon graduation. He currently worked as an assembler for Rolls-Royce in Mount Vernon. Francis was a member of the New Guilford Methodist Church and the North American Hunting Club. He enjoyed boating, fishing and spending quality time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Virginia “Ginger” (Harris) Jones; his daughter, Ashley Marie Jones of Mount Vernon; three brothers, Hugh (Joan) Jones of Mount Vernon, Ralph Jones of Mifflin, Dwight (Linda) Jones of Charleston, W.Va.; two sisters, Patsy (Ed) Moran of Mount Vernon, Peggy (Glenn) Boggs of Butler; father and mother-in-law, George and Janice Harris; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Frank Jones.

A memorial service with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council will be held Thursday at noon at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, where friends may call one hour prior. Pastor Dan Johnson will be officiating.
