HEATH — A memorial service for Robert A. “Artie” Fry, 52, of Heath, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Heath United Methodist Church, 1149 Hebron Road, Heath, with Pastor Jeff Belt and Pastor Gene Lilly officiating. Mr. Fry passed away on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, at his residence. He was born Jan. 28, 1960, in Mount Vernon, to the late Robert L. Fry and Carrie Lee (Dailey) Fry McMillan.
Mr. Fry was a wonderful father who was kind, gentle and considerate. He enjoyed writing poetry and songs, mushroom hunting, collecting coins and volunteering with the Heath High School wrestling team. He was employed for 26 years with AEP where he was a lineman. Artie was also an avid hunter.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Pam Fry; two children, Evan J. Fry and Emma J. Fry, both of Heath; brothers, Alan (Cheri) Fry of Danville, Perry (Jeri) Scott, of Mount Vernon; and Benjamin Fry of Pataskala; sister, Marcy (Andy) Hughes of Granville; stepmother, Kay Ann Fry; uncles, Arthur "Bud" (Janet) Dailey of Mount Vernon; and Harry Fry of Huntsville; niece, Carrie Wright; and a nephew, Clint Wright.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Leland Bliss Fry; sister, Sherry (Scott) Hinger; uncle, Steve Elsworth Dailey; stepfather, Rev. Glenn B. McMillan; and an aunt, Theresa Fry.
