MOUNT VERNON — James William Knox, 24, of Mount Vernon, died Friday, Aug., 17, 2012, at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus.

James was born March 24, 1988, in Mount Vernon to Rebecca “Becky” Knox and James Coe, and had spent his lifetime in the Mount Vernon area. James worked for the Mount Vernon City Schools and the Knox County Schools as a substitute teacher’s aide and he served as a volunteer at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. James was an avid “Buckeye” fan, loved NASCAR and wrestling, and especially enjoyed going camping with his grandparents.

Surviving are his parents, Becky (Thomas Bruno) Knox and James (Liz) Coe; grandparents, Harold and Nina Knox and Carol Coe; his close friend Brittany Norman; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bill Coe.

Friends may call Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, where funeral services will follow at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Marvin Haught officiating. Private burial will be observed at a later date.
