GAMBIER — Charles “Chuck” Harris, 76, of Gambier, passed away Aug. 18, 2012, at Knox Community Hospital.

He was born Oct. 12, 1935, in Kearny, N.J., to William A. and Clarissa (Van Camp) Harris. Charles was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the American Legion and various bicyclists clubs.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Alma (Ives) Harris; two daughters, Bonnie (John) Coleman of Columbus and Louisa Deboos of Lake City, Wash.; granddaughters, Elizabeth and Alexis Coleman; a brother, William P. (Jan) Harris of Texas; sisters, Clarissa McIntosh of Pennsylvania and Kathy (Charlie) Taylor of Delaware.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Alice Harris.

A time to remember and celebrate Chuck’s life will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Apple Ridge Shelter House-Sharon Woods Metro Park in Westerville.

The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is assisting the Harris family with arrangements.
