MOUNT VERNON — Mary Christine Rhinebolt, 88, of Mount Vernon, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
Mary was born Nov. 11, 1923, in Henryetta, Okla., to Van and Mary (Castle) Grayson. Mary had served as a foster grandparent for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program at the Mount Vernon Developmental Center. Mary was especially proud of her heritage as a Cree Indian from Oklahoma.
Surviving are her husband of 40 years, John “Junior” Rhinebolt; daughters, Barbara Plate of Charleston, W.Va., Sharla (Ken) Roth of Mount Vernon, Joy (William) Smith of College Park, Md., and Peggy Miller of Columbus; sons, Thomas Githens and Paul Githens, both of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Kelly, James, Erica, Kim, Mike, David, Clark, Amanda, William, Phillip, Andrew and Nichlous; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Githens; and a son, Truman Githens.
Friends may call Thursday from noon until 1 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
