FREDERICKTOWN — Marvin L. “Larry” Ervin, 71, of Colony Drive, Fredericktown, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, at The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus.

He was born Aug. 9, 1941, in Spring Valley, Ohio, to the late Marvin V. Ervin and Ellen (Schmalstig) Ervin-Gray. Larry was employed and retired as a truck driver for D.F.S. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and watching Ohio State and Cleveland Browns football. He was a member of the American Legion in Grove City, Ohio, and was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife of over 49 years, Mary (Phillips) Ervin; his three daughters, Diana Ervin of Fredericktown, JoAnn (Pat) Cottrell of Texas, Audrey (Rich) Asquith of Texas; and four grandchildren, Alex Cottrell, Ryan Asquith, Sean Asquith and Justine Asquith.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be no calling hours. The family will observe a private service at a later date. The Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown is honored to have been chosen to serve the family of Marvin L. “Larry” Ervin.
