MOUNT VERNON — Vernon Dale Kandel Jr., 59, of Mount Vernon, died Saturday afternoon, Aug. 25, 2012, on the farm near Fredericktown.

He was born Feb. 22, 1953, in Wooster, son of Vernon W. Kandel and the late Amanda J. (Mast) Kandel of Fredericktown.

Junior worked for Country Manufacturing in Fredericktown. He enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors and riding his motorcycle. Junior’s greatest pastime was riding four-wheelers with his grandkids. He was a man of few words, but his character told it all.

In addition to his father, Junior is survived by his wife, Brenda (Moore) Kandel; sons, Jordan, and his wife, Melissa (Jones) Kandel of Fredericktown; and Corey and his wife, Whitney (Gorsuch) Kandel of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Drake Alexander, Deryka Alexys, and a granddaughter on the way; a sister, Bonnie (Kelly) Warner of Fredericktown; brothers, James (Denise) Kandel of DeGraff and Glen (Barbara) Kandel of Fredericktown; and his canine companion, Duncan.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home, 33 E. College St., Fredericktown. A private celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
