FREDERICKTOWN — William A. McGough, 85, of Knox Lake Road, Fredericktown, passed away Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

He was born Aug. 13, 1927, in Knox County to Charles and Mae (Harding) McGough. William retired in 2003 from the City of Mount Vernon Water and Wastewater. He enjoyed traveling and spending his free time with family and friends.

He is survived by his son, Charles (Sherri) McGough of Fredericktown; a daughter, Rebecca (Joel) Roberson of Alabama; five grandchildren, Alexandrea McGough, Jason Letts, Rob Letts, Chad Morrison and Michelle Testa; and six great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lenora McGough; a son, Stanley Nelson McGough; a brother, Robert McGough; and a sister, Ginger Carrier.

The family will observe a private graveside service at a later date. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of William A. McGough.
