MOUNT VERNON — Harold C. “Pudge” Fawcett, 83, of Mount Vernon, passed away Saturday morning, Sept. 1, 2012, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon.

He was born Dec. 4, 1928, in Gambier, son of the late Lundy and Grace (Davis) Fawcett. Pudge retired from Chattanooga Glass with many years of faithful service. He was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict. Pudge enjoyed playing golf and was a frequent patron at the Southside Diner in Mount Vernon. He will be remembered as a devoted caregiver to his wife and a loving father.

Pudge is survived by his wife, Norma (Payne) Fawcett; stepdaughter, Donna (Ben) Page of Massillon; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Anne Wolfe of Gambier and Rosalie Vance of Mount Vernon; brothers, Gordon and Ralph Fawcett of Utica; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Pudge was preceded in death by a son, Mark Fawcett; sister, Betty Ramsey; and brother, Gene Fawcett.

The family will have a graveside service Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens, with Pudge’s son-in-law, Ben Page, officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
