MOUNT VERNON — Lydia Jane Tucker, 95, a resident of Autumn Health Care of Mount Vernon for the past three years, died peacefully Friday, Sept. 14, 2012.
She was born March 7, 1917, to Fred and Nannie Johnson, Mrs. Tucker was a lifelong resident of Mount Vernon. Prior to moving to Autumn Health Care, Jane had spent the previous four years as a resident of The Living Center, where she enjoyed spending time with her friends, especially the Red Hatters, playing bingo, working on crafts and enjoying her all time favorite activities of listening to “big band” music and dancing.
She is survived by her three children, Terry L. (Sandra) Tucker of Fort Wayne, Ind., Nancy J. Tucker and Kim A. (Susan) Tucker of Mount Vernon; seven grandchildren, Erica L. Tucker of Boston, Mass., Danielle M. Matuschka of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Nicole R. White of Columbus, Mary J. Zolman of Mount Vernon, Alison Tucker of Westerville, Laura Tucker of Denver, Colo., and Lisa Likowski of Wooster, along with 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one niece, Jackie Brinning of Mount Vernon.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband, Paul M. Tucker; one sister, Ruth Coile Carson; two brothers, Conard Johnson and Wilson Johnson; and one niece, Patsy George.
Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in Mound View Cemetery. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is handling the funeral services for the Tucker family.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made in Jane Tucker’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or Odyssey HealthCare of Gahanna, Ohio.
