MOUNT VERNON — Kenneth E. Keck, 83, of Mount Vernon, passed away peacefully Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 15, 1929, in Fredericktown, the son of the late Don and Jessie Mae (Zinn) Keck.
Kenneth was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the Colonial City Moose Lodge and retired from Cooper-Bessemer after 41 years of service.
He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Keck of Mount Vernon; his son, Richard (Melissa) Keck of Bexley; three grandchildren, Ava Keck, Aaron Keck, Robert “Bobby” Koontz; and several nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Keck; three brothers, James Keck, Phillip Keck and William Keck; sisters, Kathleen Loriaux, Virginia Durbin; and a twin infant sister.
Friends may call Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home, 212 N. Main St., Mount Vernon, where funeral services will follow. Calling hours at 3 p.m. with Russell Howard officiating. Burial with military honors will be conducted by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kenneth’s name to Hospice of Knox County, 17700 Coshocton Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050.
