DANVILLE — Shelba Jean Smith, 74, of Danville died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 10, 1937, in Sparta to Verner B. and Sarah M. (Bird) Harrod. She married Cosmas B. Smith on Feb. 28, 1962. She was a member of the St. Luke Catholic Church in Danville.
She is survived by her husband, Cosmas; a brother, Verner (Ruth) Harrod Jr. of Mansfield; three sons, W. Morgan (Tammy) Givens of Howard, Jimmy (Terri) Smith of Kingman, Ariz., and David Smith of Danville; four daughters, Sara Sapp of Dacula, Ga., Rose (Jim) Pitsenberger of Howard, Pearl (Bob) Purdum of Mount Liberty and Melissa Smith of Blacklick; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the St. Luke Catholic Church. The Rev. Father Victor Wesolowski will be officiating. Burial will follow in St. Luke Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:45, at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville.
