MOUNT VERNON — Elsie Louise (Cline) Spray, 80, of Martinsburg Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at Knox Community Hospital.

She was born April 28, 1932, in Franklin County, to the late Carl and Florence R. (Bukey) Cline. Elsie served as office manager for the Farm Credit and Robertson Truck Sales, both of Mount Vernon. She was a member of the Gambier Pythian Sisters 611, Owl Creek Baptist Church, and served as clerk for Morgan Township. Elsie will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.

She is survived by her husband, Herbert “Glenn” Spray, whom she married April 11, 1952; three sons, Howard (Sarah) Spray, Michael (Mei) Spray and Wayne (Terri) Spray, all of Mount Vernon; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Leona Herold of Las Vegas, Nev., Claire Ann Lindsay of Obetz; daughter-in-law, Brenda Spray of Newark; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Max Spray; and a sister, Agnes Hill.

Friends may call Thursday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Owl Creek Baptist Church near Utica. Pastor Sharon VanWinkle will be officiating. Burial will follow in Owl Creek Baptist Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church or the charity of one’s choice.
