MOUNT VERNON — Robert A. Grennell, 80, of Mount Vernon, passed away Oct. 7, 2012, at Country Club Retirement Campus.

He was born Aug. 1, 1932, in Mount Vernon to the late Joseph T. and Mildred Cora (Miller) Grennell. Robert was a member of the Eagles Lodge 760.

Robert is survived by his seven children, Pamela (Doug) McDonald, Jeanette Bottomley, Linda (John) McManaway, Connie (Jake) Hodge, Cathy Jo (Tim) Grubaugh, Cynthia Bottomley and Judith Ann (Edison) Derr; 22 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; brothers, James (Charlotte) Cagnon and Edward Eugene (Phyllis) Cagnon; sister, Sharon (George) Sprinkles; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia H. Grennell, on Sept. 19, 2012; brothers, Joseph I. and James L. Grennell; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Mound View Cemetery, with Mrs. Kim White officiating. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home is handling the funeral services for the Grennell family.

Memorial contributions may be made in Robert’s memory to Hospice of Knox County.
