TIPP CITY — Harold G. Hillier, 86, of Tipp City passed away Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at Koester Pavilion, Troy, Ohio.
Born Nov. 5, 1925, in Fredericktown, to Ralph and Grace (Crawford) Hillier, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Vivian, in August; and his brother; Harry Hillier.
He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Watson of Tipp City; son, David A. Hillier of Columbus; four grandchildren, Gregg King, Darla Hillier, Dustin Watson and Deanne Hillier; and two great-grandchildren, Dominiac and Reilly Hillier.
Harold served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, was a retired banker from Antwerp National Bank, a member of the Lions Club and a life member of the Mason Thrall Lodge 170 and an avid golfer.
Harold’s wife, Vivian R. (Niebel) Hillier, passed away Aug. 30, 2012.
She was born May 28, 1926, in Mount Vernon, to Hugh Vernor and Rachel (Moreland) Niebel, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Richard Niebel. Vivian was a retired school secretary from Gahanna Chapel Field Elementary School and was active at the Antwerp Presbyterian Church.
A joint service will be held for Harold and Vivian on Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Snyder Funeral Home, 33 E. College St., Fredericktown, with the Rev. Keith Bohley officiating. Burial to follow in Forest Cemetery. Visitation one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
